RIHANNA’s new single “Work” is #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the ninth week, which gives her a total of 60 weeks at #1 over her 10-year career. That lifts her past THE BEATLES, who only spent 59 weeks at #1.
Rihanna is now second of ALL-TIME behind MARIAH CAREY, who has logged 79 weeks at the top. Technically,ELVIS should also be up there with Mariah . . . but most of his hits were before the Hot 100 officially launched in 1958.
If you DO count the early data, he’d also have 79 weeks at #1. If you don’t, Billboard credits him with just 22 weeks at the top.
