Senate Leaders Plan Budget Vote Wednesday
(Springfield, IL) — Wednesday is looking to be a busy day in Springfield as a possible first step toward breaking the budget deadlock could be taken. The Democrat and Republican leaders of the Illinois Senate are promising votes that day on a package of bills that make up their budget compromise. That package includes jumps in the personal and corporate income tax rates, along with two of the reforms Governor Rauner has been demanding — a property tax freeze and workers compensation reform. Wednesday is also the day Rauner delivers his State of the State message.
