Doomsday Clock 30 Seconds Closer To ‘Midnight’
(Washington, DC) — The world is now 30 seconds closer to Doomsday. Scientists at the National Press Club in Washington, DC today announced the change that now stands at two-minutes-30-seconds from midnight. Midnight represents the start of the apocalypse. The scientists pointed to increasing nuclear arsenals and the specter of climate change as key factors that are moving the world clock closer to “midnight” and to civilization’s destruction. They said nuclear rhetoric is loose and destabilizing. They also said there are no “alternative facts” to climate change, a reference to the White House Press Secretary’s challenge of crowd estimates for President Donald Trump’s inauguration.
