There’s a 44-year-old woman in northern California named Cathleen Cavin, who has an eight-year-old daughter named Cali. They live about 45 miles north of San Francisco.
About two-and-a-half years ago, they adopted an orange-and-white kitten named Ozzie, and wanted to adopt his brother too. But Cathleen didn’t think their landlord would let them have two cats.
Cali was pretty upset about splitting them up though. So Cathleen called the shelter back, and said she wanted to come get the other kitten too. But by that point, someone else had taken it.
Then about eight months ago, she started dating a guy she met online named Brian Herrera, who had a cat named Butter that looked a lot like Ozzie. And it turned out it WAS Ozzie’s brother.
Brian and his daughter adopted Butter right after Cathleen and Cali adopted Ozzie. And now they’ll finally be back together again.
Things are getting serious between Cathleen and Brian, and they’re moving in together next week. (Press Democrat)
