More than HALF of single people say the most annoying part of dating in 2017 is GHOSTING . . . that’s where suddenly the person you’ve been texting with just stops responding with no warning and vanishes.
So one dating app just realized they could make some REAL money and maybe simultaneously make people’s dating lives better if they could stomp out ghosting.
The app Coffee Meets Bagel is offering a premium membership for $35-a-month that shows you advanced data on other members’ messaging habits.
You’ll be able to see what percentage of messages they respond to, how often they send the first message, how long they usually wait to reply to a message, and whether they’ve been active within the past three days.
In other words, if they ghost you, you’ll be able to find out if they’ve been on the app and they’re just ignoring you. Plus, if they’re ignoring you, that “message wait time” stat will start going up, and that could be a ghosting red flag for other people in the future.
The founders say they hope it will stop people from ghosting because, quote, “Your engagement becomes part of your profile . . . [so] if you ghost, it will impact your future dating prospects.” (Mashable)
