Washington Savings Bank is offering a new program called WSB Summertime CEO which will allow children ages 6-12 an opportunity to manage and run their own lemonade stand. The program will run from May 22 to July 31.
Just like a real business, participants will fill out an application and be interviewed at any of the Washington Savings Bank locations. Once approved, applicants will receive their lemonade stand kit, which includes cups, a pitcher, lemonade mix, sanitizing wipes, a WSB Summertime CEO button and $2.00 start-up cash. The kits are available while supplies last, with a limit of one kit per family.
Also included in the kits is an Income Statement that participants will fill out and return to the bank. Once completed and returned by August 19, the young CEOs will receive a certificate of completion and their picture placed on the WSB Summertime CEO Hall of Fame.
Allison Donsbach, a member of Washington Savings Bank’s marketing committee, got the idea for the program after seeing another, non-local bank, have success with a similar concept.
“With the entrepreneurial spirit that the Effingham area has, we feel confident that this program will be a success. We’ve witnessed such great results from the CEO program and hope that the WSB Summertime CEO program will just add another layer to what Effingham County has to offer,” said Donsbach
