Champaign Auto Accident Results in 10-year-old’s Death

A car crash that occurred yesterday afternoon in Champaign left a 10 year old Camargo girl dead and two others injured. The accident happened just before 4:00 P.M. on Interstate 57 just north of Champaign when a Jeep driven by 37-year old Steven Kruse from Mattoon crashed into the vehicle with the child as well as a semi truck. Two other occupants of the car were injured and taken for medical treatment. Kruse was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident and Electronic Communication Device Prohibited while Driving.
