A Shumway woman was injured in a single-vehicle crash last night in Jasper County. According to the Illinois State Police, a vehicle driven by 42-year-old Thomas Shelton, of Effingham, was north bound on County Road 850E approaching a curve and was traveling too fast to negotiate it. A witness to the crash said Shelton’s vehicle swerved to the right and then back to the left causing it to sway back and forth. A passenger, 44-year-old Angela Miley was ejected. Shelton was ticketed for driving too fast for conditions, and Miley, for failure to wear a seat belt.
