It SHOULD be a good feeling to be amazing at your job and the star of your company. So why does it make people so unhappy?
According to a new study out of Florida Atlantic University, people who feel like they’re overqualified for their jobs or that they’re a “big fish in a small pond” are almost always UNSATISFIED and UNHAPPY at work.
The researchers say it’s because we have a basic human NEED to be challenged to feel like our effort’s paying off . . . so even though it sounds like it’d be great to be spectacular at your job, it’s not. (Phys.org)
