(New York, NY) — The UN Security Council is ramping up the economic pressure on North Korea. It voted unanimously today to approve new sanctions that ban key exports including seafood which could cost the regime over a billion dollars a year. U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley called it “a good day at the UN.” The U.S.-backed resolution is designed to pressure North Korea to halt development of its long range ballistic missiles and nuclear capability.
