Amazon Making Refunds On Solar Eclipse Glasses
(Undated) — Amazon is making refunds to people who bought counterfeit, potentially shoddy solar eclipse glasses. The online retail giant is contacting shoppers who bought glasses that Amazon says “may not comply with industry standards.” Amazon also is taking down listings of some glasses, quote, “out of an abundance of caution.” Extremely dark sunglasses made specifically to view solar eclipses are necessary to avoid potentially permanent eye damage. Amazon is in the process of contacting people who bought glasses that could be unsafe.
