(Inglewood, CA) — Pop star Pink is getting a big honor at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards. The music network says Pink will receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award for her “trailblazing impact” on the music industry, fashion and pop culture. MTV noted that the singer’s “boundary-breaking and rebellious nature” has powered her 17-year career that includes a string of hits like “Don’t Let Me Get Me,” “Try,” and “Just Like A Pill.” Pink, whose real name is Alecia Moore, has sold over 47 million albums worldwide and won three Grammy Awards and six MTV Video Music Awards. This year’s VMAs take place August 27th at the Forum in Inglewood and will be hosted by Katy Perry.
