Congratulations to the Sigel Fire Department on being named fire department of the year by the Illinois Association of Mutual Insurance Companies. The department and its 19 active firefighters were recognized for their extensive training, fire station, which was built in 2012, and upgrades and purchases of equipment which were all done without raising property taxes, along with their state-recognized training facility.
