A Newton man faces multiple charges following an accident on Route 130 last night. According to the Illinois State Police, a vehicle driven by 28-year-old Thane Griffith rear-ended a vehicle driven by 60-year-old Gertrude Murphy, also of Newton, which was stopped for a red light at bridge construction. Griffith was cited for DUI, driving on a revoked license, failure to wear a seat belt, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating an uninsured vehicle, and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
