Today (12/15), the Mattoon Fire and Police Departments will be having a Salvation Army bell-ringing competition at the Mattoon Walmart from 10am-4pm. Please come out and support your favorite team. Also, the Jefferson Elementary Show Choir will be signing at the red kettle at the Cross County Mall, Friday from 3:00-3:45; Mattoon Middle School band members will follow with a performance from 4:00-7:00, and on Saturday (12/16), Coles County Sheriff Jimmy Rankin will be ringing the bell at the Charleston Walmart food entrance from 8-10am. Thus far, they’re more than $30,000 away from the goal, so please come out and support the cause. If you’d like to ring the bell yourself, please call Trish at 234-3915.
