Some heartwarming news came out of Troy, Illinois this past week. In just a few hours, a homeless veteran went from cold, miserable and hungry, to warm, happy, and on his way to New York, all thanks to the community efforts of Troy, Illinois.
Last Wednesday, Michelle Noyes and her husband were driving by and spotted the homeless man, William Bozman, Marine Veteran, huddled in a sleeping bag trying to stay warm in the freezing cold conditions. The family went and bought him a hot chocolate.
Bozman had began his trek from California trying to get to New York, hitchhiking and walking his way to Troy. After not being able to find a ride for the night, he decided to rest in his sleeping bag.
She decided to take to social media and tell the town about Bozman. After several hours, the marine veteran was given food, water, blankets, clean clothes, and boots, a few hundred dollars cash, and a bus ticket to New York where he could stay with his friend.
