Tide Maker Looking To Stop People From Eating Detergent Pods
(New York City, NY) — The maker of Tide says it’s working to stop people from eating detergent pods. Proctor & Gamble Chief Executive David Taylor calls the “Tide Pod Challenge” “dangerous” and “extremely concerning.” He says the company is working with social media organizations to remove videos of people biting into detergent pods. Taylor is asking parents to talk with their children about the hazards of eating detergent.
The American Associated of Poison Control Centers is warning about a spike in teenagers eating detergent pods. The agency says eating detergent can cause seizures, respiratory issues and even death.
