Facebook, Twitter and other tech giants should face fines if they fail to get rid of “bots” after they’re discovered by the federal government. That’s what Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar told NBC’s “Meet the Press,” adding it’s a great idea that would need Congress to act on the measure. The Democrat is supporting the “Honest Ads Act,” which looks to regulate campaign ads on the social media platforms. Klobuchar added the social media giants are among the most sophisticated companies in America, but they’ve got to put the resources in place to stop the bots from dominating accounts.
