Philadelphia’s police commissioner is defending the arrest of two black men at a Starbucks saying his officers “did absolutely nothing wrong.” Police Commissioner Richard Ross said his officers were responding to a 911 call from employees saying that two men refused to leave the store when being asked because they had not bought anything. A video of the incident has gone viral. It shows other customers telling officers the pair had done nothing wrong and were being targeted for their race. Ross said the two men were released after Starbucks informed them they were not interested in prosecuting. Starbucks released an apology on Twitter today, saying they were disappointed the incident led to an arrest and they were reviewing policies to ensure these kind of situations never happen in their stores.
