Believe it or not, the apps on your phone can reveal how old you are. And if your response to that was, “Well, joke’s on them, I have a flip phone that doesn’t do apps,” yeah, I think we can guess your age from THAT too, gramps.
Some researchers from Aalto University in Finland just released a study that linked the apps you have to your age, your gender, your income, and your marriage status.
The “Washington Post” took their results and put together a quiz where you answer whether or not you have different apps. And they predict if you’re male or female, over or under 32, married or single, and make more or less than $52,000 a year.
They say it’s between 61% and 82% accurate, which means they should probably get three of those four things right. And just looking at the quiz, you can start to see how they might draw their conclusions.
If you’ve got Pinterest and Etsy, you’re probably female. If you’ve got Zillow and Yelp, you’re probably married and making over $52,000. And if you’ve got Tinder and Snapchat, you’re probably single. Or married and dirty.
You can take the quiz by Googling “Washington Post app quiz.”
