There’s an Australian guy named Brooke Roberts who runs a YouTube channel called Prank Nation . . . yeah, they mostly do prank videos. But he did one on the Fourth of July where he walked around L.A. handing out food to homeless people.
And when the video hit YouTube, a ten-year-old in Florida happened to see it . . . and realized one of the homeless people was his MOM. She’s 39, her name’s Jaime Garlinghouse, and she has mental health issues.
She went missing back in November, and after she missed Christmas, her family thought she might be dead. Her son was so relieved to see her online that he started crying.
Then his dad Eddie got in touch with Prank Nation, and flew to Los Angeles to find her. And after three days of looking, he DID. He says there was one street he almost didn’t walk down. But he decided to at the last minute, and that’s where she was.
Apparently he hasn’t been able to get her back to Florida yet, because she needs an I.D. to fly. But that’s all in the works. If you want to donate to help get her home, just search for “Missing Mother Needs Help” on GoFundMe.com. (ABC.net.au)
