Remember the firefighter who did a 9/11 tribute last month by climbing 110 flights of stairs on a Stairmaster? Well, apparently this guy was inspired by it . . .
32-year-old Tony Constanzo works as a firefighter in La Porte, Texas, just outside Houston. He also runs a nonprofit called “Footsteps for the Fallen” that gives scholarships to the children of first responders.
And he does a stunt every year to raise money and awareness. Like last year, he ran 440 miles in 11 days. Which is almost two marathons a DAY. So he’s in pretty good shape.
And over the weekend, he raised money by walking nonstop for 24 hours, in full firefighting gear, with a heavy oxygen tank on his back.
He did it at a gym on a treadmill . . . started at noon last Friday . . . and didn’t stop until noon on Saturday. So he walked all day and night, and didn’t take any breaks except to use the bathroom.
No word yet on how much money he raised. But if you want to help out, you can donate at FootstepsForTheFallen.org. (KHOU)
