There are a lot of positive benefits to yoga, like getting more flexible, getting better at breathing, and improving your mental health. Unfortunately, “getting in shape” may not belong on that list.
A new study found that just doing basic yoga poses doesn’t really count as exercise . . . since it has the same effect on your body as light activities like cooking or doing the laundry.
But more intense types of yoga that have a cardio element DO work like traditional exercise . . . so if you want to get into better shape, maybe you should look into power yoga. (Daily Mail)
