State Honoring Illinois Soldier Killed In Afghanistan
(Undated) — The State of Illinois is honoring a soldier from Illinois who was killed in Afghanistan. All U.S. and state flags in Illinois will be lowered to half-staff from Saturday to Monday to remember Army sergeant Doug Riney. The Fairview native died last week from wounds received during an encounter with “hostile enemy forces” in Kabul.
