The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a Flood Warning continues for portions of the Wabash River
Lowland flooding has developed along the Wabash River. Significant flooding is not expected. Flooding will affect some local and state roads…low agricultural land and some river parks.
Between one tenth of an inch and one inch of rain fell across western Indiana Monday through Monday night. One to two inches of rain are expected between Wednesday and Thursday across western Indiana.
The Wabash River will continue to fall Tuesday night into Wednesday before it begins to rise again on Thursday in response to the expected rain on Wednesday through Thursday. Flooding of up to 8 feet above flood stage will be possible.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions…
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river conditions.
