Nominees for the “MTV Movie & TV Awards” were announced yesterday, and “Get Out” leads the pack with SIX. “Beauty and the Beast” and “Stranger Things” are tied for second with FOUR each.
This used to be the “MTV Movie Awards”, but they expanded it to include TV shows, because let’s face it . . . a lot of them are BETTER than what’s playing in theaters these days.
Most of the categories are mixed . . . so Taraji P. Henson from “Hidden Figures” is up against Stephen Amell from “Arrow” for Best Hero . . . and Jeffrey Dean Morgan from “The Walking Dead” faces off against Jared Leto from “Suicide Squad” for Best Villain.
But they still have separate categories for Movie of the Year, Show of the Year, Best Actor in a Movie, and Best Actor in a Show. And “Actor” is male AND female. They don’t have separate categories for men and women this year.
The show goes down on Sunday, May 7th, with Adam Devine from “Workaholics” and “Modern Family” hosting.
