According to a MPD Press Release, Mattoon police arrested Romie R. Patterson, age 39 of Mattoon, on Monday April 17th at 1:44 p.m. The arrest occurred in the 800 block of N. 12th street. Patterson was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, and Domestic Battery. The charges allege that Patterson was taken into custody due to an outstanding Coles warrant of arrest for domestic battery, alleging that he battered a female. Patterson was then found to be in possession of baggies of methamphetamine that were packaged for sale. Patterson was further detained due to an Illinois Department of Corrections parole violation warrant alleging that Patterson committed these offenses while on parole from prison for domestic battery.
Patterson was taken to jail.
