(Nashville, TN) — Tennessee authorities say a former middle school teacher suspected of kidnapping a student has been arrested in northern California, and the student is safe. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation tweeted today that Tad Cummins had been arrested after his car was found in Siskiyou County, California, about three hours northwest of Redding. They said the girl he kidnapped, Elizabeth Thomas, was safe. The two disappeared last March 13.
