British actor PETER SALLIS passed away Friday at the age of 96. He was best known as the voice of Wallace from those Claymation “Wallace & Gromit” movies. Wallace is the guy . . . Gromit is the dog.
Peter was Wallace from the very beginning, in the 1989 short film “A Grand Day Out” . . . and he did the voice up until 2008’s “A Matter of Loaf and Death”.
Three of his movies were Oscar-winners: “The Wrong Trousers” and “A Close Shave” won Best Animated Short . . . and “The Curse of the Were-Rabbit” won Best Animated Feature.
