Eastern Illinois University has issued a temporary hard spending freeze on all purchases. President David Glassman said the reason for the freeze is due to the lack of a state budget. Paul McCann, vice president for business affairs said at this point the university is trying to stop people from purchasing anything. There are exceptions, but officials say these will be handled on a case by case basis.
