Last week, Chipotle finally rolled out its new QUESO nationwide . . . which might be the most significant new item they’ve EVER added to their menu.
But maybe the reason they rarely bust out new stuff is because . . . they’re terrible at it.
The reviews are in on Chipotle’s queso, and they’re almost unanimous: It’s BAD.
Most people on social media are echoing the same things: It’s bland, it’s grainy, and, as one person tweeted, quote, “It’s the biggest disappointment of 2017.”
Chipotle’s official response is, basically, that we’ve had our palates for queso destroyed by all the current stuff on the market that’s filled with additives and chemicals . . . so we have the wrong expectations on how it will taste.
A spokesperson says, quote, “We decidedly made our queso different than others in that most queso is made with a bunch of artificial ingredients and that is not something we do . . . we knew there would be some who didn’t like it.”
