- “Insidious: The Last Key“ (PG-13)
The fourth “Insidious” chapter focuses completely on Elise Rainier, the psychic played by Lin Shaye. It’s a sequel to the last one, which means the action takes place between the events of “Insidious: Chapter 3” and the first movie.
In this one, Elise reluctantly agrees to investigate disturbances at the house where she grew up. We get her backstory in flashbacks and learn about how she escaped her abused childhood when there’s a tense reunion with the brother in the present.
“Resident Evil” fans will recognize one of Elise’s relatives as the girl who played K-Mart in “Resident Evil: Extinction” and “Resident Evil: Afterlife”. And “Grey’s Anatomy” fans might recognize the actress who plays Dr. Leah Murphy in it.
Leigh Whannell and Angus Sampson are also back from the last movie as Elise’s assistants, Specs and Tucker. Leigh plays Specs. He also created the franchise and wrote all four of the movies.
Even though it’s rated PG-13, one of the reviewers says it has women being kept as prisoners to be raped and murdered, so some of you may want to still be a little careful with impressionable, younger teens.
