(Atlanta, GA) — Every state except Hawaii is experiencing widespread flu. That’s according to the Centers for Disease Control. The main strain circulating is H3N2, which tends to be more severe, especially in adults over age 65 and young children. Twenty children have died from the flu so far this season. Thousands of people have been hospitalized. The vaccine is estimated to be about 30-percent effective. Still, doctors say it can help lessen the severity of the flu if you do become infected. The vaccine also covers other strains of flu, which could still pop up this season.
