‘Black Panther’ Big Hit At North American Box Office
(Los Angeles, CA) — “Black Panther” is stalking record territory at the weekend box office. The first Marvel film directed by an African American brought in an estimated 192-million dollars during its three-day North American debut. Directed by Ryan Coogler, the show features a virtually all-Black cast. It’s the fifth-largest opening of all time, and a record opening for February. “Peter Rabbit” was a distant second, followed by “Fifty Shades Freed,” “Jumanji: Welcome to Jungle,” and “The 15:17 to Paris.”
