Report: Duke, UNC, Kentucky Among Several Schools Named In FBI Probe
(Undated) — More details are emerging as part of the FBI’s investigation into corruption in NCAA men’s basketball. Yahoo! Sports reports players from more than 20 Division One programs have been identified as possibly breaking rules and at least 25 players have been linked to receiving impermissible benefits. Basketball power houses Duke, North Carolina, Kentucky, Kansas and Michigan State are among the programs identified. Documents obtained by Yahoo! Sports show cash advances as well as entertainment and travel expenses that were paid for college prospects and their families by former NBA agent Andy Miller and his agency, ASM Sports.
NCAA president Mark Emmert issued a statement, saying the allegations point to systematic failure that must be fixed now if we want college sports in America. Emmert added that anyone who engages in this kind of behavior have no place in college sports.
