A home sustained fire and smoke damage Saturday night in Charleston. The Charleston Fire Department was called to the scene at 308 North Seventh Street at 10:38. Crews encountered flames coming from the bathroom. It was determined to have been caused by an unattended candle being too close to combustibles. The bathroom sustained heavy fire damage, and there was smoke damage throughout the home. The residents were home at the time, but escaped unharmed.
