Disney movies and romantic comedies . . . and to a lesser extent, “The Bachelor” . . . have trained us to believe that our PERFECT SOULMATE is out there.
But is there a point where you should just say, “I don’t know if I’m gonna ever find my soulmate. Maybe they don’t even exist. And I’m definitely not getting any younger. So . . . um . . . will you marry me?”
According to a new survey, the majority of people say . . . no. 61% say you should hold out for The One. Only 11% say you should settle for someone who’s good enough.
Men are almost twice as likely as women to think just settling for someone is a good idea.
And maybe not surprisingly, people in their 50s are most likely to say you should settle . . . people in their 30s and 40s are second-most likely . . . and people in their 20s are least likely to say you should settle.
