Only around 40 percent of Americans trust Facebook to obey privacy laws to protect their personal information. A new Reuters/Ipsos poll out today finds that’s less than Facebook’s competitors. While only 41 percent said they trust Facebook, 60 percent or more said they trust Amazon, Google and Microsoft. Facebook has taken a hit this month after news broke that a data firm linked to the Trump campaign obtained information for 50 million users. It helped cause the social media giant’s stock prices to fall 14 percent for the week.
