Over 200 million eggs are being recalled over salmonella fears. Indiana-based Rose Acre Farms issued a recall on the eggs in connection to 22 cases of salmonella reported on the East Coast. The Food and Drug Administration says the eggs were distributed to consumers in Colorado, Florida, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia. Salmonella is a bacterial infection that can be life-threatening if it spreads beyond the intestines. The FDA says Rose Acre’s North Carolina farm, which distributed the contaminated eggs, produces 2.3-million eggs a day. Over 206 million egg units are being pulled from store shelves as a precaution.
