North Korean state media is praising the historic summit between North and South Korea. The KCNA news agency said today that both sides had a “candid and open-hearted exchange of views” Friday, on north-south relations, ensuring peace on the Korean Peninsula and “denuclearization.” The state-run news said Friday’s summit wrapped up with dinner and an “amicable atmosphere overflowing with feelings of blood relatives.” North Korean TV ran footage of the summit and highlighted themes of peace and Korean unity. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in released a joint statement Friday, in which they agreed on a common goal of a “nuclear-free” peninsula.
