(Des Moines, IA) — Iowans took to social media wondering why an inflatable duck was crossing the road in Des Moines. Somehow, an inflatable duck got loose and rolled down the street. The duck, named Quacky, belongs to an emergency shelter for youth crisis or in the juvenile court system. The organization holds an annual fundraiser called the “Duck Derby” with about 42-thousand rubber ducks. Organizers say Quacky got a head start and made a quick getaway, but didn’t ruffle any feathers as the community support was the wind behind its wings.
