I-57 was reduced to a parking lot following serious accidents yesterday. Four people were injured, including one for life-threatening injuries as the wrecks shut down traffic between Pesotum and Tuscola. According to the Illinois State Police, it started when a motor home burst into flames around 12:30. Crews were able to put out the fire and no one was hurt. Soon after, two tractor-trailers and three vehicles crashed in the same area. The accidents remain under investigation.
