(Los Angeles, CA) — Bill Nye the Science Guy is apparently good at math, too. A pre-trial conference is scheduled to be held Wednesday in downtown Los Angeles in connection with Nye’s lawsuit against The Walt Disney Company. The popular host claims the Burbank-based studio improperly held onto millions of dollars in profits related to his TV show. Nye’s complaint says Disney’s Buena Vista Television division engaged in questionable accounting practices over the series. He also says The House of Mouse failed to cooperate with Nye’s requests to audit earnings of the show.
Nye alleges Disney swindled him and other owners of the program out of 28-million-dollars. Buena Vista TV calls the lawsuit “a publicity ploy.” “Bill Nye, the Science Guy” ran on Public TV and in syndication for five seasons starting in 1993.
