(Washington, DC) — President Trump says the U.S. is having “productive talks” with North Korea about reinstating the June summit with Kim Jong Un. The President said in a Twitter post late Friday that if the summit does happen, it will likely be in Singapore on June 12th. Trump’s tweet said the peace talks will extend beyond that date if necessary. On Thursday, Trump cancelled the planned summit because of harsh rhetoric from Pyongyang. North Korea then released a statement saying it remained open to talks. Trump told reporters at the White House Friday morning that talks were ongoing, and added, “We’ll see what happens.”
