(Akron, OH) — A new app will alert off-duty emergency personnel and citizens trained in CPR of nearby cardiac arrest events. The PulsePoint app aims to facilitate immediate CPR to people before EMTs arrive on scene. The free mobile app alerts citizens trained in CPR when someone in a nearby public place is reported to be suffering sudden cardiac arrest. The app will also provide users with the location of the closest available automated external defibrillators. Anyone with a smartphone can download the free PulsePoint app through the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
