(Burbank, CA) — Pixar and Walt Disney Animation’s chief creative officer is stepping down at the end of the year. John Lasseter has been on a leave of absence since November after allegations of sexual harassment against him began to surface. Disney chairman and CEO Bob Iger [[ EYE-gurr ]] said Lasseter “had a remarkable tenure…reinventing the animation business, taking breathtaking risks and telling original, high-quality stories that will last forever.” Lasseter said in a statement that his time away from the company has — quote — “provided an opportunity to reflect on my life.” He plans to become a consultant once he leaves the company.
