On Saturday, July 7, the 18th Street Farmers Market will have a special one day event and host the 18th Street Vendorfest. Organizers anticipate an additional 25 vendors for this event. Vendors will have handcrafted items, direct sales products, and other unique items for sale from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. Organizers for Vendorfest include Steve Runyon, Market Manager, and Jenna Hays, Event Coordinator.
Vendorfest will be set up adjacent to the farmers market on the front lawn of the Coles County Department of Human Services at 825 18th Street in Charleston.
Vendor fees from this special event will be used to help fund a special program at the farmers market. Several days are planned to offer “extra value” to SNAP participants. Market Bucks are available to purchase fresh produce. SNAP participants will receive up to $10.00 in extra value Market Bucks as a match to spend at the market. Primary sponsors for this special program include: Produce with a Purpose, Home Again Consignment Shop, and WMCI Radio.
