(Santa Barbara, CA) — Actor Tab Hunter is dead at the age of 86. Hunter was the 1950s teenage heartthrob who played Joe Hardey in the “Damn Yankees!” movie. He passed away last night. Hunter’s partner confirmed the death, saying the actor suffered a blood clot in his leg which caused him to go into cardiac arrest. Hunter starred in films throughout the 20th century and was also an accomplished singer, producer, and author. Hunter was born in 1931 in New York City and was vocal about his sexuality after he revealed he was gay in his 2005 autobiography, “Tab Hunter Confidential: The Making of a Movie Star.” Hunter was in a relationship with produer Allan Glaser for three decades.
