A tech writer for “Forbes” posted screenshots from his phone this week, after his grandmother encountered her very first GIF video. They were in a group text with a bunch of relatives. And one of them sent a GIF of Steve Harvey clapping.
And the fact that it kept looping over and over again confused her . . . to the point that she thought her phone was broken. So she immediately took it to a VERIZON STORE to see if they could fix it.
She was VERY concerned it would keep looping while her phone was off and run the battery down. So they assured her that’s not how GIFs work. But she sent another group text anyway later on that said, “Now it’s 5:30 P.M., and he’s STILL clapping.”
