(Undated) — People in at least ten states are reporting cases of a stomach parasite after eating McDonald’s salads. Health officials in Wisconsin, Nebraska, South Dakota and Minnesota are joining other states in reporting cases of the Cyclospora parasite. So far, there are 54 cases of the stomach parasite in the affected states. The parasite can cause severe diarrhea, stomach cramps, nausea, weight loss and loss of appetite. The fast-food restaurant chain said until it can switch its lettuce supplier, it will no longer be serving salads. McDonald’s says it’s cooperating with the CDC and FDA in investigating the source of the outbreak.
